About Joydeep

Joydeep Chakraborty was born in Kolkata on 1st May and also brought up over there. His father is Sri Amalendu Chakraborty and mother is Smt. Sibani Chakraborty. He completed his schooling from Ramakrishna Mission Boys' Home, Rahara and graduation from Rastraguru Surendranath College, Barrackpore, under the University of Kolkata.

From his very childhood days he was fascinated with music & took participation in various musical competitions during his school days and always secured the first position. He started his classical talims from Pandit Sri Biresh Roy (Ex –Prefect of Sangeet Research Academy- Tollygunj) and after that joined specially in the famous KIRANA GHARANA run by its Maestros-Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Ustad Mubarak Ali khan. Joydeep had taken his RABINDRA SANGEET talims from Pandit Biswanath Ghorui, Smt. Chanda Ghorui, and Smt. Srabonee Sen.

Modern songs from- Sri Abhijeet Bandopadhya, Sri Kalyan Sen Barat, Sri Ramanuj Dasgupta. He started performing in All India Radio as a child artist and gradually in Sishu Mahal, Krishi Kathar Asar, Galpo Dadur Asar etc for a couple of years consecutively.

He also performed in Zee Bangla reality shows like “GOLDEN VOICE, SA- RE- GA- MA- PA” etc. Presently he is performing live cultural stage shows on regular basis in different parts of India and abroad. His first solo Bengali music album was “CHANDNI-RAATE” with 8 new flavored modern Bengali songs which was released and successfully marketed by - BMG ATLANTIS MUSIC.

His next album was “ARO- DURE” - Bengali remix of different kinds of 8 modern and film songs in western flavours.

His devotional albums were released from Dakshineswar Ramakrishna Sangha, Adyapith as “MAA- O- BHABNA” and "NIVEDAAN".

Joydeep is a Play Back Singer also. His first play back was in Bengali feature film “GOURI” with Smt Poornima (Mumbai) in the lyrics of the famous writer Late Pulak Bandopadhya.

Joydeep is an Actor also. He completed his acting course from “NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FILM AND FINE ARTS”, Kolkata.

He acted in some short films namely- “KEBIN, PLANCHET, 1+1=1” etc, directed by Sri Biswarup Biswas, Anjan Banerjee, Pubali Halder and were publicly shown in KOLKATA FILM FESTIVAL and CHITRABANI FILM FESTIVAL in 2010 & 2011 at Nandan(2), Bangla Academy and Jivanananda Sabhaghar.

Joydeep is a promising youth talent of Bengal and he will definitely conquer the heart of the universe by his sweet melodious voice, art of singing and new creations.
